How I came to masonry in Tuscaloosa
I ran a small landscaping business for several years, and building stone borders and garden walls is what pulled me into masonry for good. I learned the trade beside an older mason who made me explain each step back to him, and I've taught that way ever since. We started D&L in 2017, and our crew learns the work the same way I did.
Most of our calls come from homeowners who've spotted crumbling joints, a leaking chimney or a crack they don't like the look of, and most of that is brick and mortar on older homes. I care that you understand your own house, because once you know why a joint failed or a wall leans, you can tell a good repair from a quick patch. I'd rather fix it once than come back to patch the same spot twice.
We're based in Tuscaloosa and work in Northport, McCalla and the cities around them, and a lot of what we see is older brick that's already been patched once or twice. You can read about our masonry work in Tuscaloosa and the services we offer, or send us a note about your house and I'll come out and take a look myself.
